Four Stages of VRMT Online training
The concept behind VRMT Online is to provide standardised training that delivers the same message to every student, whilst reducing the in-person trainer resources. This is delivered in 4 stages, which are:
Stage 1
E-Learning Foundation
Training begins with structured e-learning, accessible on a PC, tablet, or mobile phone. This phase delivers the essential theoretical knowledge required for safe and effective operation. Content is standardized, and self-paced, allowing trainees to learn anytime, anywhere, while ensuring consistent understanding across the workforce.
Stage 2
VR Guided Practice
Trainees then enter an immersive VR environment with narrated, step-by-step instruction. Lessons are fully self-paced, but progression is competency-based. The course will not advance until the trainee has correctly completed each required action. This ensures that critical procedures are not only understood but physically performed and reinforced through repetition.
Stage 3
VR Unguided Practice
In this phase, the virtual IS machine is set to a stable, optimized operating condition. From this baseline, randomized faults are introduced. The trainee must identify abnormal behavior, diagnose the cause, and apply the correct corrective actions. This develops fault-finding skills, decision-making confidence, and operational awareness in a realistic, risk-free environment.
Stage 4
Performance Assessment
The final stage is a timed VR assessment. Trainee actions are monitored and measured against defined performance criteria. Immediate feedback is provided, clearly identifying strengths, errors, and areas for improvement. This delivers objective evidence of competence before the trainee works on the real machine.
