VRMT have recently presented a paper to the Society of Glass Technology’s Furnace Solutions 14 conference at Stoke on Trent on June the 6th.

Tony Pawinski, pictured here receiving his certificate of appreciation from SGT, presented a paper of the benefits of the use of Virtual Realty in the Glass industry. Although the current VRMT system concentrates predominately on the IS machine from the feeder downwards, there are already plans to roll this out to the forehearth and furnace. As Tony says “we intend to create a fully functioning glass factory, starting at the batch plant right through to the coldend and even the final shrink-wrapping. The benefits of giving the industry a secure, recordable tool for Health and Safety and production training are enormous and industry changing. From this conference, we have had plenty of interest from glass plants and suppliers alike.
